Support to Ukrainian refugees with disabilities
The project aims to alleviate the financial and healthcare burden faced by Ukrainian refugees with disabilities living in the Czech Republic. Many refugees are facing difficult living conditions due to rising housing and energy prices, lower government subsidies, and difficulties finding stable employment.
The project will provide a cash-based support program for disabled refugees who are unable to work and support their caregivers to improve their resilience. Additionally, the project will purchase and distribute winterization non-food items, organize training and group events for caregivers, and provide mental health support if necessary.
The project will benefit citizens of Ukraine with temporary protection status, caregivers of people with disabilities, and helping professionals working with such persons in Prague and the Central Bohemia region.
The project will help clarify the needs of disabled refugees, provide better services, and support advocacy efforts aiming to improve the system of state support for refugees with disability.
The implementation timetable will begin in December 2022 and end in March 2023.
This project is funded by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM).
